A fast, automated news platform for The Hawk
The Hawk publishes English news around the clock. We run the platform behind it: the website, the newsroom admin, automatic agency publishing with AI-written SEO, the ePaper and the API that feeds its mobile app.
A national news brand has to publish quickly, all day, with a small team. Every story needs a good headline, tags, keywords and a meta description to be found on Google, Google News and Discover, and readers expect pages to open instantly on any phone.
The newsroom also needed one place to manage the website, the digital ePaper and the content that the mobile app reads, without depending on several disconnected tools.
We built the website on Next.js and Node.js and put it behind Cloudflare for caching and security, so readers get fast pages while scrapers are kept out and search engine bots are never blocked.
Stories from the news agency arrive automatically through its feed. AI then writes subheadings, tags, keywords and meta descriptions, and agency stories carry the agency byline. Editors, staff and selected contributors publish from one admin panel, which also controls the ePaper and serves the mobile app.
